World Obesity welcomes WHO’s report on the implementation framework for Billion 3. 

Today, putting all WHO-related targets in serious jeopardy. 

In the present report, obesity is defined as a risk factor linked to , reflecting the persistent misunderstanding of  obesity. ICD-11 defines obesity as a requiring prevention, management and treatment. The constant proliferation of single silo solutions will continue to hinder progress and result in more disability and death. 

We urge Member States to: 

• request that WHO make obesity a strategic priority and develop a Global Obesity Action Plan on Obesity. This would support implementation and help translate the recommendations and targets into meaningful national action
• use an equity lens and consult with civil society and people with lived experience, and address the underlying social and commercial determinants of health.
